VASSILIOS (BILL) DIMITROPOULOS, MD BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH


Dr. Dimitropoulos is a board-certified dermatologist and MOHS micrographic surgery specialist. Dr. Dimitropoulos joined the RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago as a clinical instructor and assistant attending in dermatology in 2005, and is presently an assistant professor and assistant attending in the Department of Dermatology. He specializes in MOHS Micrographic surgery, mole and cyst removal, laser surgery, and tumor and skin cancer excisions, and has expertise in skin cancer, warts and acne. He has dedicated his research in skin cancer in immunocompromised patients. He received a BA in Philosophy and a BS in Biology, graduating with honors in from Loyola University in Chicago. He obtained his MD in 2001 and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at RUSH. He performed his residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan as well as a Melanoma Extracurricular Training Program in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Dimitropoulos has conducted presentations on female pattern hair loss, melanoma, congenital pigmentary disorders, and in other dermatologic areas.
